The chosen project, I-Flex, marks a key step forward in the innovation of the electricity system, <strong data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"644\">focusing on the active role of energy demand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"1085\">Thanks to the <strong data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"704\">vision and commitment of the IGNIS team<\/strong>, I-Flex will serve as a testbed to demonstrate how <strong data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"783\">demand-side flexibility<\/strong> can benefit all stakeholders in the system. Its main objectives include <strong data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"907\">reducing the costs of system balancing services<\/strong>, increasing the reliability of the electricity grid, and improving the integration of renewable energy sources \u2014 all with a <strong data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1084\">direct impact on participants\u2019 electricity bills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1087\" data-end=\"1429\">I-Flex will also work to <strong data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1145\">eliminate regulatory barriers<\/strong> that currently hinder the participation of demand-side resources, storage, and distributed generation in balancing markets. In doing so, it will foster a <strong data-start=\"1300\" data-end=\"1356\">more dynamic, competitive, and efficient environment<\/strong>, aligned with the country\u2019s decarbonization and energy transition goals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1740\">The project was officially presented by Santiago Bordiu, CEO of IGNIS Energ\u00eda, during the MITECO event on Regulatory Innovation and New Business Models.
