On January 16, 2026, the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya) granted the Operational Authorization for testing<\/strong> of the Carbeso Solar <\/strong>photovoltaic plant, with a capacity of 46.13 MWp, located in the municipality of Pujalt (Barcelona)<\/strong>, following the completion of construction of the generation facility. This authorization marks the start of the testing period prior to the plant\u2019s final commissioning.<\/p>\n

This represents a significant milestone for the company and for the deployment of renewable energy in Catalonia, as Carbeso Solar becomes the largest photovoltaic plant to come into operation in the region<\/strong>, far exceeding the capacity of the largest installation previously in operation. This constitutes a very substantial contribution to Catalonia\u2019s renewable energy targets.<\/p>\n

From an environmental standpoint, the plant will generate approximately 87 GWh of renewable energy per year<\/strong>, making it possible to avoid the emission of more than 15,815 tonnes of CO\u2082 annually<\/strong> compared to equivalent generation from natural gas. These emissions savings are equivalent to planting more than 25,300 trees per year, or a forest of<\/strong> more than 630,000 trees over the lifetime of the plant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project has been designed with a comprehensive approach focused on respecting local biodiversity<\/strong> and paying special attention to landscape integration<\/strong>, including the undergrounding of all evacuation infrastructure. In addition, IGNIS has worked closely with the local community and the municipality of Pujalt<\/strong> to jointly achieve the best possible integration of the project into the area. This has included reaching agreements with all landowners where the plant and its evacuation infrastructure are located, as well as signing an agreement with the Pujalt City Council<\/strong> to collaborate on initiatives related to renewable energy self-consumption, sustainable mobility, and the improvement of municipal infrastructure<\/strong>. Likewise, the project has incorporated a social participation <\/strong>model in its ownership structure through crowdfunding, which has been very well received by small investors interested in sustainable projects, reaching a total investment of more than half a million euros in the project\u2019s equity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
