As part of its Commitment Plan, IGNIS continues to strengthen its relationship with the local communities where it develops its projects, even after the construction of its plants has been completed.<\/p>\n
On this occasion, the company collaborated with Colegio San Francisco Javier La Salle \u2013 Virlecha in organizing an educational visit to the PFV Guadacano photovoltaic plant. The visit was aimed at students in the Intermediate Vocational Training program for Electrical and Automated Installations Technicians, who are in the final stage of their studies and about to begin their professional internships.<\/p>\n
This initiative builds on the actions promoted by IGNIS in the area, where, during the plant\u2019s construction phase, local employability was encouraged and training programs were developed to facilitate entry into the renewable energy sector.<\/p>\n
The day began at the school with an introductory presentation by the IGNIS team. Alba Rom\u00e1n, a project development engineer, and Bruno Su\u00e1rez de Tangil, from the Environmental Department, shared their experience and roles in the development of the plant, giving students insight into the reality of working in the sector from different perspectives.<\/p>\n
Afterwards, during the visit to the facilities, the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team provided students with a practical and comprehensive overview of how a photovoltaic plant operates, from energy generation to its integration into the grid.<\/p>\n
Students were able to learn about real-time monitoring systems, the main maintenance tools, and the key equipment used at the plant. They also visited different areas of the facility, such as solar trackers, inverters, transformer stations, and the electrical substation, gaining a full understanding of the process from solar energy capture to distribution.<\/p>\n
As part of the experience, a drone demonstration was also carried out, allowing students to observe how technical inspections are conducted using thermography\u2014an essential tool for detecting hot spots, identifying potential anomalies, and optimizing plant maintenance.<\/p>\n
The visit concluded with a talk aimed at encouraging students to continue their training in the field of renewable energy, highlighting the professional opportunities offered by the photovoltaic sector in a context of growing demand.<\/p>\n
