WE COLLABORATE IN A COMMON PROJECT
Established in 2015 by a team of engineers, IGNIS has focused its business strategy on the development of renewable energy, with a leadership position in Spain and an increasing international presence.
OUR FIRST STEPS
IGNIS was founded in 2015 by a group of professionals who were experts in the energy sector and had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The company started by acquiring and successfully restructuring financially troubled thermal assets in cogeneration and combined cycle plants, ensuring their viability and creating a positive impact on employment and the activity of developing areas.
At the same time, it began to specialize in the operation and maintenance of assets, as well as in gas and electricity trading capabilities. In 2017, it launched the development of the largest solar project in Europe, with 850 MW, marking the first milestone in a subsequent development process through which IGNIS consolidated its expertise in the entire renewable plant deployment process.
IGNIS is currently developing more than 150 projects in Spain, both for itself and for third parties, becoming the largest renewable energy developer in Spain. Its high level of specialization has allowed it to promote international expansion in Europe, America, and Asia, where it shares its development capabilities with local partners.
IGNIS, TODAY
The company has consolidated its leadership in offering specialized energy services for generation assets and consumers. It manages generation plants (as a market agent and provider of adjustment services). Additionally, it offers operation and maintenance services for large photovoltaic plants, optimizing their availability through proprietary algorithms based on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence.
Moreover, IGNIS is now an integrated energy company that provides innovative solutions to the end consumer (both industrial and residential), maximizing efficiency and generating sustainable and efficient consumption.
The company’s shareholders include its founding partners and, since 2021, the investment fund Vortex Energy. In July 2024, IGNIS signed an agreement with the international fund KKR to create the P2X platform to develop green hydrogen, ammonia, and other clean technology projects in Spain and internationally.
IGNIS is progressing with the firm objective of being among the leading energy companies in the coming years, with an ambitious international outlook and the desire to play a significant role in the global renewable market.
